Just a few words in haste. After I

had written my letter to You today

it occurred to me, that the money might

perhaps have been delivered to the closest neighbouring postal

service and I therefore made a trip on skis over the ice

in order to intercept the postal service – so that I

might send the receipt right away in case the mon-

ey was there – which it was and I hereby send

the receipt and my most sincere thanks to You and

Mr. Maschmann. The road conditions here have been utterly im-

possible – the ice is weak [now], but the roads have not been

used this winter because of the good ice – they are there-

fore in a state of disintegration soft with snowdrifts and

patches of ice in between. That is why on several

occasions, the postal service ~~here~~ in to Mykle-

bust, where we now live has been laid up in Sandal,

because of the road conditions it has been impossible

to get through. Forgive the haste and my illegible

handwriting – have been in a hurry, and therefore not held the pen

properly – the post has now reached me here again. With heartfelt
