and now Jenny has left us ^yesterday, and wants to have her year’s wages. Zakris has

has had to wait almost 3 years now. He never complains by the way – the

worst of his problems and worries at the moment is,

that he does not have a proper “saw” to cut the wood with, –

he envies you that good saw at Björndalsneset, – he

has evidently tested it out there, – now he is constantly “whining”

to me about, how I must ask Kramer to get hold of a

similar saw blade for him, – though preferably a bit larger and with slightly

larger teeth; we have a “bow” for a saw, – do you think you

might get me a blade for this bow, illustration – it

must be approx. 95 cm. long and preferably with large teeth – that

are identical in both directions – like this: illustration and not like this illustration

“straight” teeth in other words – not “slanted”. If it is difficult to

get such a “bowsaw” blade, then we can use any other type of

blade; – we can make a “frame” ourselves – based on the size of the blade.

Couldn’t such a blade be rolled up and bound and packed

in a fairly large package like this illustration in other words so that it wasn’t bent

too severely. – Otherwise we are doing well enough despite the hard

weighing nearly 200 kg., and we eat meat all day long worse than the Israe-

lites ate quail in the desert, – well even “the vegetarian” eats meat nowadays,

but of course only cooked; – it was a bull that had become “feral” in

the mountains and had to be shot; – Engel bought it without my knowledge

and got it for 200 kr. (^{incredibly cheap purchase but}which soon must be paid). – We are frightened by

this ugly poliomyelitis, which is ravaging the village lately. – In Naùstdal

they have already suffered three deaths, and the doctor and his wife have been infected, so Bydahl

must take over his district as well, – here it has so far only shown up in two places

in Aardal and in Hùùs. Well live well! Do you want to write a few words to

the bank about your house? Adr: bailiff Øvrebö Aardal. – Best wishes Your Astrup
