vil pröve at faa brevet i samme posten!
paa tomten for længe siden, – skulde skrevet

Dear Kramer!
Many thanks for your letter and for the lamp-
shade, – it fits perfectly, – we had
recently written to uncle Ole and aunt Hanna asking them
to obtain a shade for us, – and now I have telegraphed them,
saying that we have got one. ––– I write in haste – as I
will try to send the letter with the same postman!
Regarding the house and the framework under <it>,
which I believe you must necessarily have, – I will
have to write in more detail the next time, – I am not
quite well now. – Olaùs and I had been out
at the plot a long time ago, – should have written
about it – forgive me! Olaùs does not think the spot
is good, as it will require a very <high> foundation at the lower end.
We discovered, that if you took the upper boundary line facing
south in exchange for the lower boundary line facing north, –
– in other words move the building the length of a house further up in the terrain,
it would be better. – Based on the corner
that we (you) decided on – the house will be larger, than we cal-
culated, – and if the northwest corner then reaches almost down
to the dance circle’s upper wall – then the moraine and trees will come
under the house – and make it difficult to move the rocks without
the task taking too long. From above we would admittedly run
into the large moraine facing west, but that doesn’t matter
so much, I don’t think. Well more about this later. – You shall
or course not pay for “The Fisherman” for the director of fisheries,
but I thought that perhaps, we might try to find a
better print for him, – but it will be too late for Christmas. I
would also like to print something for you as well for Christmas, – but did
not know what. Won’t you be so kind as to tell me, what you
would prefer to have! – I thought of “the mountain grazing farm”, but I don’t
know whether you actually liked it. I have now obtained better paper,
so I can perhaps make it better. Send me a record
of what you have of my woodcuts, – so that I see, what you don’t
have. I am just now in the process of making some prints for Hoskildsen
“March atmosphere” “moonlight” and a new one from Africa – I have
promised him something once before – and will try to keep my word, even though
the man is not much to my liking. Received a letter from him – but
not a word about my letter from this summer – or about what I asked about then.
Well you must forgive my scribbles and to you and your <entire>
household our best wishes for a “Merry Christmas”!
