There are no known descriptions or photographs of this study.

When Astrup died in 1928, the study was inherited by his widow Engel Astrup (1892–1966). At the memorial exhibitions in Bergen and Kristiania (Oslo) that same year, this was one of the pictures she put up for sale. This study was sold for 1,500 kroner, but the owner is not recorded in the records of the Christiania kunstforeining (art society). The history of the work after 1928 is therefore unknown.
