the hay out in the barn can also be seen. "The aspen’s

leaves against grey. wall – weird cold, soft,

neutral-matt ^green (the matt neutral

colours are the richest) (richer than the

silver-green? amongst violet and yellow-green (olive)

remember Fond’s green colour on the elm tree

by the mountain farm against the barn wall, <geal><mekgod>.

Snow flecks and yellow grass.

Below Øvreaasen, a bakkefar [foot-trail, trace of a brook]

along the road – a snow bank that is thawing

newly-thawed field with long yellow

flat-lying shoots of "braaske" [some sort of plant]? and

clay water? à la Holmboe’s spring brook

for Krog’s poem – remember "from the school down

by the brook under the ice sheet. A little in Trold-

bottenen [end of valley] under melting glaciers with yellow-green

moss and grey rock scree and red rust flecks.
