Kortet her giver

bare en daarlig forestilling om dette. Din N. A.

Dear Fond

(no it is from Draumkvædet)

“Where the ice burned black”,

is supposedly a line from Garborg (Helheim)

Well today I have experienced it: – “The Blue

Grotto”. – The ocean threw itself with great force against the entrance – was at first

there in vain, – no one dared [to enter], – the ocean

swallowed and regurgitated repeatedly. – On our way

back I met some adventurous bandits,

who were willing to take the risk: turned around – but such shattered

nerves I have never experienced [before]. The waves

covered the cave’s entrance every second,

and yet we came (soaking wet) through it. Inside it was

dark – only a frigid cold blue

light from the bed of the ocean. This card shows

only a poor representation of it. Your N. A.
