We used to sit there often in the evenings at the stone table making

"mischief", – brewed coffee with a little "contraband" (spirits) or with

a bottle of my strong blueberry wine or rhubarb wine, – – the vicar-

age garden lay spread out and white below us; – the evening reflected

a yellow glow like that of ^an evil eye in a window, – from whence

someone banged admonishingly to us youth down in the garden. I

painting – Ravensberg was enthusiastic about it, – but

next to the vicarage, – summer night by a garden fence, – two youths

dark trees of the garden – bright yellow house against the background – heavy ruddy moon.
