Typeface: BERGEN MUSEUM

HISTORICAL COLLECTION. Bergen 16 January 19167

A sincere thanks for the Bergen picture

which You have sent me. It is a reproduction of a picture by

Dreier from ca. 1820 and I have permitted myself to accept it

as a gift from You for the museum’s collection. The 3 woodcuts

are lovely and it was a great pleasure for my wife and me

to receive them; we are <exceedingly> grateful for them and

send You our sincere thanks.

When I came to see the painting in Kùnstforeningen

Ørvig had already been there and spoken with Kaland. I have

not met him since so I do not know how it

went.

With very best wishes for the New Year to Your

wife and Yourself, and once again a sincere thanks for the gift
