Typeface: BERGEN MUSEUM

HISTORICAL COLLECTION. Bergen 27 Nov. 1916

Otto Johansen’s exhibition was here

a couple of weeks ago while I was away on a trip.

But the Art Society purchased a picture by him and I know that

he also sold something to private collectors. His experiences in Stavanger,

which You talk about, are most regrettable, but hopefully

he has got a better impression of Bergen. These Stavanger painters

must be a strange bunch. It must be they who have

recently placed a notice in the newspaper that they will arrange a protest exhibition

directed against Kùnstnerforbùndet, and that it will be held in

Bergen. In the city here I don’t know anyone who has the urge to

protest against Kùnstnerforbùndet.

The old watercolour of Bergen, which You describe will

of course interest us greatly. I will be very grateful to You

if You send it to the museum.

with many greetings Your devoted
